i was truly blessed today! first, i had an email this morning when i woke from michel, a young man in haiti (really a boy -- he calls me "mom"), who is aspiring to be a doctor, to help his country. it was simply an i miss you letter. just what the doctor ordered!

next, i was greeted at church by kendra, who is one of my favorite people on the planet. she was one of the girls i was assigned in small group at chapel of the cross youth group, under the supervision of john adams, two short years ago. the college life has taken on kendra as its' own, and she's grown, and done so beautifully...both inside AND out.

kendra and i have already shared two amazing trips to haiti together over the past 3 years. now she is venturing there without me! she is on a medical mission, with monadnock bridge builders, under the watchful eye of dann bryan (and even steve, our navy seal, and joan are joining in. this makes me feel good about her going. she will be well tended to, and loved while she is there.)

kendra will help haiti, and haiti will, in turn, be a blessing to kendra as well. kendra's plans have always included medical school, and with a slight turn, she has some tough decisions ahead of her... to become a physician, including all the schooling required; going to nursing school after completing her undergrad in biology; transferring and changing her major to a degree in PA (physician's assistant)....these are the questions plaguing her. her ultimate goal is to start helping the people of haiti. WOW!!!!! this girl of 19 is an inspiration

. let's all shout out a prayer for kendra as she prepares herself and her heart for this trip God is entrusting upon her; and also for melanie.....another incredible young girl who has the same ambition of helping others in places of great need. she will be joining kendra in haiti with dann and the rest of the crew.

i know it's my sinful nature......but i am so jealous, i could just scream!!!!

i am going to rwanda this june with world vision..............yet still, my heart definitely belongs to H*A*I*T*I
